A 1980s crime tale based on true events concerning the Dixie Mafia.

Into an empty white room, abstracted from everyday time, enter two women, sisters. They are in there to do an experiment, an imagination game, like when they were in their room as children: to go back in time. What is left of the welter of events we go through? What does it mean to be in a relationship, to share? Perhaps an empty room is never really empty.

The sleepy little town Valleby is getting ready for the cafe owners Dino Panini's and Sara Bernard's wedding, and our popular young detectives Lasse and Maja stand ready to ensure that nothing will go wrong. But when the wedding couple's respective relatives arrive, they prove to belong to rival mafia families.

In 1930s Argentina, dim-witted Rufino and Jacinto are hired as tough guys ("guapos") by political boss Malatesta to intimidate his opponents, rig elections, etc. However, the two men change allegiances when they meet the lovely Mercedes and La Mendocina, victims of Malatesta and his gang.
